As an interdisciplinary team, we have collaborated for over a decade in research and development related to orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Bottlang holds a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa and is the Director of the Legacy Biomechanics Laboratory in Portland, OR.
Dr. Madey obtained a medical degree at Columbia University, NY. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery and a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Fitzpatrick completed a master’s degree in biomedical engineering, a medical degree, and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Iowa.
Kyle Wirtz holds a mechanical engineering degree from Portland State University. He serves Apex as a project engineer with a focus on CAD, product integration, and software development.
Dr. Dau holds a PhD in impact biomechanics from Wayne State University and heads Apex’s helmet program.
Stanley Tsai, MS brings along over 12 years of development and testing experience with a leading medical device manufacturer before joining Apex. He received his master’s in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and currently directs the NIH-funded Osteosynthesis program at Apex.
Megan Davis serves as administrative assistant.
